Experience with Linking Technologies:

  • CABRef Project (2000), with CABI Publishing, to enable PubMed-like linking from a citation in a journal article to a CAB Abstract.
  • CABI Linking Project (1999), an earlier project with CABI Publishing, investigated linking from citations to full text journal articles as well as CAB Abstracts, and added links to Medline abstracts from citations in CABI's full text journal articles.
  • SuperJournal Project (1996-1998). Implemented linking from citations to articles within SuperJournal and to Medline abstracts.
  • DC-Citation. I was a member of the Dublin Core Citation working group which investigated specifying journal article bibliographic record information using Dublin Core metadata.
  • Member of the NISO Standards Committee tasked to develop an American National Standard for OpenURL, syntax for creating web-transportable packages of metadata and/or identifiers about an information object.
