Xgrain Learning and Teaching Associates Workshop
Monday 30 April, 2001, Wolfson Suite, Main Library Building, University of Edinburgh. an EDINA project

Background

This event brought together 7 of Xgrain's 10 representatives Learning and Teaching Associates with staff from EDINA and other interested parties. The aims were to set the ground work for initial functionality specifications for Xgrain as a portal and as a broker, and to undertake preliminary work on the L&T aspects of Xgrain.

Moira Massey introduced the day with an overview of Xgrain. The project was then put into context by Margarete Tubby, who gave an introduction to the Join-Up cluster, within which Xgrain operates, and by Judith Clark, who gave an update on the RDN and the projects designed to enhance it.

Following these presentations, workshop participants discussed the requirements for Xgrain in terms of its role as a bibliographic portal, a broker and its potential as a learning and teaching tool.
